Jorge Zalszupin for L’Atelier Brasiliana Armchair

Designed by Jorge Zalszupin for L’Atelier, 1965

The Brasiliana armchair is an emblem of Brazilian modernism. Its moulded plywood structure in Jacaranda veneer reveals Zalszupin’s skill in merging handcrafted detail with emerging industrial techniques.

The sculptural silhouette, assembled with brass crosshead screws, echoes the fluid lines and monumental geometry of Oscar Niemeyer’s Brasília. This original vintage piece is in very good condition and features Havana suede upholstery.
